Arpan Bachhawat, M.D.

Dr. Bachhawat received his B.A. in Biology from West Virginia University where he graduated in 1999 Magna Cum Laude.  He attended West Virginia University Medical from 1999 – 2003.  He was at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA – Transitional Year Internship from 2003 – 2004.  He attended the University of Kentucky Residency in Ophthalmology in Lexington, KY where he was elected Chief resident in 2006.  From 2007 to 2009 he was at Northwestern University Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery.  He joined the staff of Retina Associates of Middle Georgia in 2009.

Dr. Bachhawat received honors in the following third year medical school rotations in Surgery, Medicine, Neurology and Pediatrics.  In the fall of 1999 he received the Beta Theta Pi Scholarship based on his academic achievement and leadership qualities.  From 1996 – 1999 he was in the Honors Program at West Virginia University and in 1996 he received the Presidential Scholarship which is a tuition merit scholarship based on his academic achievement and leadership qualities.

When Dr. Bachhawat is not working he enjoys golfing, biking, running and watching movies.
